TERMS OF SERVICE
By adding or interacting with the **Birmingham Systems Discord Bot** ("the Bot") in any Discord server, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (TOS).
1. Acceptance and Agreement
By using the Bot, you confirm that you are of legal age of 13+ per terms of discord and that you accept these Terms. If you do not agree to the TOS, you must not use the Bot.
2. Usage Restrictions and Acceptable Conduct
Users must comply with all Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines while using the Bot. Any violation of these rules through the use of the Bot is grounds for immediate action.
2.1. Staff Management and Hierarchy
- Access to management commands (e.g.,
/staffmanage, Transfers, Revokes) is strictly limited to authorized staff roles.
- Users must respect the **Bot's Hierarchy Checks**. Attempting to circumvent the system to perform unauthorized actions (such as promoting a user to a rank above your own) is prohibited.
- All logged actions (Promotions, Suspensions, Strikes) are recorded permanently in the Bot's Firebase database for internal auditing.
2.2. Economy and Gambling System
- The **Economy System** is solely for entertainment and has **no monetary value** outside of the Discord server.
- Exploiting bugs, using macros, or attempting to artificially inflate your currency balance will result in a **complete balance reset and/or permanent server ban.**
2.3. Emergency Services (999 System)
- The 999 System is a serious roleplay tool. It must be used responsibly and **only for genuine roleplay emergencies** that adhere to the community's standards.
- Submitting false, malicious, vulgar, or trivial calls is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate moderation and potential system restriction.
2.4. Global Moderation System
- The Global Moderation System (commands like
/globalban, /globalkick) is intended for cross-server security management by authorized staff.
- Any user who receives a global ban has violated a serious network rule across the bot's managed servers.
- The Bot maintains a persistent log of all global actions taken, including the target user's ID and the moderator's ID/Tag, as defined in Section 4.3.
3. Limitation of Liability
The Bot is provided "as is." The owners and developers of the Bot are not responsible for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the Bot.

4. Data We Collect and Why
The Bot processes data strictly necessary for core operations, staff management, and logging.
4.1 Persistent Data (Stored in Firebase Firestore)
- Discord User ID (Required): Stored indefinitely to uniquely identify you for economy balances, staff records, and command cooldowns.
- Economy Data: Stores your Coins balance and cooldown timestamps (lastDaily, lastWork, etc.).
- Staff Management Records: Stores records of staff actions (Promotions, Suspensions, Strikes) linked to User IDs for auditing purposes.
4.2 Logged and Temporary Data (General Bot)
- Message Content and IDs: Collected for message deletion/edit logging and ticket transcripts. This data is retained only for server auditing.
- Audit Log Information: When a staff action is logged (e.g., channel move, ban), the Bot fetches the Executor's User ID and timestamp via the Discord Audit Log for recording.
4.3 Global Moderation Logging (Specific to Global Commands)
- Data Stored: The Bot stores a persistent, localized record (
logs.json) of all global moderation actions. This record includes the **Target User ID**, **Target User Tag**, **Reason for Action**, **Moderator User ID**, and **Moderator User Tag**.
- Purpose: This data is maintained for network integrity, auditing, and to prevent circumvention of bans across the managed network.
5. Data Usage and Deletion
- Purpose: Data is used exclusively to provide the Bot's intended functionality (maintaining hierarchy, tracking currency). We do not sell or share this data with third parties, except as required by law.
- Your Rights: You may request access to or deletion of your persistent data (Economy balance, Staff Management entries). Note that **staff audit logs** essential for server integrity may be retained at the server owner's discretion.
